Soul Fly Lodge
The Berry Islands are one of the Bahamas' best-kept flats secrets, a fishery of firm white sand, turtle grass, ocean edges, and backcountry creeks around Great Harbour Cay. Soul Fly Lodge puts you on that water with a guide team whose expertise is measured in decades, whether you're wading skinny water for tailing bonefish or poling deeper edges for permit from a Maverick skiff. Runs are short, the sight fishing is constant, and back at the lodge, Chef Valentino's Bahamian inspired cooking and a poolside evening close out every day.

Soul Fly Lodge | Great Harbour Cay, Berry Islands, Bahamas
The Berry Islands are one of the last quiet corners of the Bahamas, and the flats around Great Harbour Cay are the reason anglers in the know keep them that way. Firm white sand, turtle grass, ocean edges, mangroves, and backcountry creeks hold a fishery that stays dynamic all day. Every shot is sight fishing, whether you're on the bow or wading skinny water on foot.
Bonefish are the backbone here. They travel in groups more often than singles, run 2 to over 10 pounds, and average a solid 3 to 4 pounds. The permit fishery is a long-kept secret, challenging enough that the lodge awards a custom medallion and hand-carved sculpture to any angler who closes the deal. Mutton snapper, triggerfish, and barracuda fill out one of the most varied flats menus in the Caribbean.
You'll fish from Maverick HPX-V skiffs with a guide team whose expertise is measured in decades. Runs are short, so your day is spent with fish in front of you, not burning fuel. This is a young operation built on deep-rooted local relationships, and the guides treat these flats as something they steward, not just fish.
Back at the lodge, the pace slows down. Chef Valentino prepares Bahamian inspired dinners and evenings end poolside trading stories from the day. It's refined without being stuffy, the kind of place where returning guests feel like family.
Getting there is easy. Direct flights from Florida or a short hop from Nassau put you on Great Harbour Cay, and the lodge handles everything from wheels-down.

Bonefishing on Great Harbour Cay, Bahamas
The Pursuit
Aspirational saltwater species and nothing filler. Technical permit hunts and bonefish stalked in the skinny, in the Berry Islands off Great Harbour Cay. This is fishing measured by the quality of the shot, not the count.
The Fishery
Short runs and an intuitively managed program where the fish of a lifetime is always in reach. Wade the shallow flats or pole the deeper edges from Maverick HPX-V skiffs, rigged with top-tier demo rods so you're never under-gunned.
The Lodge
Refined simplicity. Al fresco dining, local Bahamian cooking from Chef Valentino, a pool, and the quiet of a story told after a day on the water. Precision on the water, presence at the lodge.
The Community
A young lodge built on deep local roots. The guides don't just pole the boats, they're stewards of these flats, backed by staff and hosts whose expertise is measured in decades. Fishery and community come first.

soul fly lodge
YEar round fishery
Soul Fly fishes from August through early July, and they don't carve the calendar into peak and off-peak. Every stretch of the season has a reason to be there. Summer runs hot for permit, with bonefishing that stays strong right alongside it. As the water cools, the bonefish flats come into their own. Whenever you can get away, there's a reason the fishing's worth it, so the real question isn't when the season peaks, it's when you can go.

Guest Experience
"I'm reaching out to share with you both how great our trip was to Soulfly. We lucked out with incredible weather on the backside of that cold front, and the fishing was great. We still saw a TON of fish (including some BIG fish), got plenty to eat, and all in beautiful locations. What set Soulfly apart was the positive energy and atmosphere. We've never seen the guides come back to the lodge to hang out, or give casting instruction, or just talk fishing. We quickly recognized all the elements that you've worked hard to highlight at Soulfly, and you have done a great job to really create a special experience for your guests."
